70 Years and Growing!
Fendler Nursery & Garden Center planted roots in the St. Louis region with its founding in 1954 by Vernon Fendler. After finishing his service in the United States Army, Vernon worked in the garment district. His full-time job allowed him to support his family and pursue his passion for landscaping and gardening. While continuing to work as a fabric cutter, Vernon founded a small landscaping company that operated out of the Fendler family home.
Word-of-mouth referrals led to more jobs than Vernon could handle outside of his job in the garment district. As the nursery flourished, the home-based business moved to a larger location and finally settled at its current location in South St. Louis County on Lemay Ferry Road.
Larry Fendler now owns and operates the nursery and garden center with the same care and dedication to customer service that has made the business a success for generations.
